Leon J. Endres
President of Board of Directors
Leon J. Endres serves as the President of the Board of Directors. He is a great asset to the HCEF Community and has an extensive background as a successful businessman, entrepreneur, and investor. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Business Development for Reconserve Inc., a leading recycler of bakery and cereal by-products nationwide. Leon is the founder of Endres Processing LLC, which converted discarded bakery and snack food into feed for livestock and served as its Chief Executive Officer from 1991 to 2012. Endres Processing had 10 facilities across the US- employing 285 employees. Leon is also a partner in the Endres Family Farm in Hampton, Minnesota. Endres serves as a director of privately held enterprises, Endres LLC, and is an active investor and advisor to startup and Operational Companies.
Born to a Catholic family, Endres grew up on the family farm and attended now closed St. Mathias Catholic Elementary School and then attended Hastings High School which he graduated from in 1980. Once graduated from high school, Leon continued to work on the family farm.
Besides being the President and Board Member of the Hastings Catholic Foundation, Leon is a member of the Hastings High School Foundation Board and Finance Committee, Former Geronimo Energy Board Member, Former Member of Executive steering Committee for Hastings Country Club, Former Member of Regina Medical Center Healthcare Board, Serving as Treasurer, and Former Member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Finance Council.
Leon and his wife Joan appreciate a strong Catholic education. He sent all four of his children to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton through eighth grade and his oldest son attended Cretin Durham Hall through 12th grade and went on to graduate from University of St. Thomas.
